Did you ever want to train your dog, but simply can not find the time? Did you think “If only someone else could train your dog during the day when you’re at work”?

Now there is an answer for your dilemma! Day Training offered by C&C PALS.

The Day Training program combines the training expertise of C&C PALS, one of the leading canine training companies in the nation; with Happy Tails Dog Spa a knowledgeable and experienced dogs’ day care program. Each day of the program, you will drop your dog off at Happy Tails Dog Spa for a fun and safe day of play and exercise. During the day, your dog will also receive one hour of private instruction from a C&C PALS instructor. When you arrive to pick up your dog from day care, you will receive a private instruction session with your dog by a C&C PALS instructor. These private instruction sessions will be used to explain to you what was covered during the day. The private instruction sessions will be 30 minutes long for the first and last day of the program, and at least 15 minutes long for the four other sessions. You will also receive appropriate handouts to aid you when working with your dog at home. In addition, if appropiate, you will be given a snoot loop head halter for your dog, and you will be taught how to use it.

C&C PALS’ basic Day Training course includes all the tools that are needed to lay a solid foundation in working with your dog. We work on: focus, responding to their name, sit, down, coming when called, down stay and sit stay, off and take it, no jumping, controlled loose leash walking, no mouthing (for puppies), and getting used to having their nails clipped.

All exercises are taught using a positive, motivational approach, using a reward marker (word or clicker) to mark appropriate behavior. To stop inappropriate behavior we remove something good from the dog (e.g. a time out). There is no use of force or coercion. This type of training is based on years of study of animal learning theory by scientists such as B.F. Skinner and Pavlov and then applied to various animals by renowned behaviorists and trainers such as Karen Pryor, Ian Dunbar, Jean Donaldson and Pamela Reid.

Prior to enrollment, all dogs must have an initial interview with Happy Tails Dog Spa to ensure that the dog can participate in day care. The cost for Day Training is $695 and this price includes the six days of Happy Tails Dog Spa day care, eight hours of private instruction from a C&C PALS experienced trainer, the specialized training manual with homework assignments, the snoot loop head halter (if needed) and treats used during training.

The program will be six (6) days in length. The program is only being offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday over a two week period.
(NOTE: As the program grows, there is the possibility to offer an alternate program to have the days be Tuesday and Thursday over a three week period.)
